4D Studio - Animation!

And now we come to my favorite part of the show: Animation! I've only done one big all-for-gold animation, and although it took me 222 frames and 11 hours of work, I loved it. So I'm very excited to get back into the swing of things.
For this assignment, I have two ideas:

1. Ripping off McGee & Me. Yes, that's what I'm calling this idea. I'm going to film myself drawing my purple fox character, and then draw over the frames (probably with WMM and MS Paint), having my fox character come out of the paper and crawl up on my shoulder, and then leap into the paper. And if I have time, I'll animate a sequence where my fox runs through a world that I draw. No dialogue, and I'll probably use Glenn Miller's "Little Brown Jug" or something similar for background music.
Here's what I mean by McGee & Me:

2. My second (er, backup) idea is to make a wire-and fur/fabric posable figure and create a stop-motion animation. I've never worked with stop motion before, so I'd rather not try this one just yet.
